Statement from Dr. Adam W. Greenway Regarding Southwestern Seminary Response to Coronavirus
TO ALL SOUTHWESTERN SEMINARY FACULTY, STAFF, AND STUDENTS:
Due to the numerous warnings which have been issued by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Southwestern Seminary and Scarborough College encourage every Southwesterner (faculty, staff, and students) to heed the advice of the CDC and US State Departments’ travel watches, alerts, and warnings, and to take commonsense precautions in daily life. Please see cdc.gov/travel for continuing updates to this list of countries and other travel advisories.
As part of the Southwestern Seminary and Scarborough College family, we need your help in keeping our campus safe and healthy. Any faculty, staff, or students who are planning to travel outside of North America anytime over the next six months are required to notify Dr. Charles Carpenter at (817) 923-5885, (713) 408-0668, or by email at ccarpenter@swbts.edu. For any Southwesterner returning from international travel, a 14-day quarantine may be required. SWBTS and Scarborough College, thank you for being a part of our effort to keep our campus safe.
Southwestern Seminary and Scarborough College will be taking its own internal measures to adjust currently planned missions trips and other official travel. All affected persons and groups will be notified by the World Missions Center.
We join Christians around the world in praying earnestly for those affected by the virus that they would experience God’s mercy, and we pray for wisdom for our government and other governments as they seek to fulfill their duties to their citizens. In the midst of such public health crises, we’re reminded that ultimately our only hope is in the promise of eternal life offered through Jesus Christ, and we urge all to look to Him for salvation.
