As a child, I was raised in a strong, Christian home. When I was 9 years old, I realized my need for Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. In middle school I felt the Lord putting a burden on my heart for South Asia. I wasn’t sure what that meant at the time, butthe Lord would reveal His plans in time. I attended Cedarville University and obtained a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education. After graduating, I moved to Bangladesh and taught at an American English Medium school for six years. I came to Southwesternin 2018 to pursue the Master’s in Christian School Education (MACSE) degree because I felt that in order to continue in ministry I needed more training. While at Southwestern I came to see the value and importance of theological education and ended up addingthe Master’s in Theological Studies to my MACSE degree.
My husband, who I met while teaching in Bangladesh, and I have been married for 3 years and have a 1-year-old son. Once my husband has completed his studies at SWBTS, we plan to return to Bangladesh to be involved in full time ministry there.
I was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. I grew up in a Christian family and while all of my environment was Christian, I never took a conscious decision to follow Christ. While I was in middle school I realized there was a world out there that offered me things that I knew God didn’t like. It was there where I had to take a decision on who I wanted to follow; Christ or the world. I was 15 when I decided to follow Christ and my life was forever changed. After I graduated high school I decided to study Bachelors in Nutrition and Food Science. Two years into my degree, I had a very clear calling of the Lord to leave everything and surrender my life to the ministry. Today, me and my fiancée David are students at Southwestern and are very excited to start our adventure together serving in ministry full time. I am pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies at Scarborough College and hope to serve in the youth ministry, counseling middle school age girls.
