Faculty, students to present at SBL annual meeting

Five faculty members and two Ph.D. students will represent Southwestern Seminary at the annual meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) in Denver, Colo., Nov. 17-20. Those participating in the meeting include:

Donald Kim (assistant professor of Bible): “Korean Biblical Colloquium” (presiding); “National Association of Professors of Hebrew” (presiding).
Steven Ortiz (professor of archaeology and biblical backgrounds): “A Decade of Research at Tel Gezer: The Transformation of a Border City” (with Samuel Wolff); “Tandy Gezer Excavations: Research Design and Strategy”; “Archaeology of the Biblical World Section” (presiding).
Stephen Presley (associate professor of church history): “Context: Methodology and Taxonomy.”
Jim Wicker (professor of New Testament): “Show Me the Funny: Using Humorous Pictures to Teach Biblical Studies.”
Charissa Wilson (Ph.D. student): “Gezer in the Iron IIA: Solomonic and Ninth Century Remains.”
