Provost announces course time changes for fall 2024 semester
In effort to offer more options to students, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Texas Baptist College students will see a change in schedule times for course offerings when registration for the fall term opens on April 15.
“Students now have the option to take two courses each morning Tuesday through Friday,” said W. Madison Grace II, provost and vice president for academic administration, adding that students will also see “continued course offerings in the afternoon and the evening.”
Beginning in the fall semester, courses offered on Tuesdays through Fridays will begin at 8:00 a.m., which is 30 minutes earlier than previous semesters. A second-class time slot is at 9:30 a.m. with an ending time at 10:45 a.m.
“Additionally, we will have a later chapel time slot and a dedicated lunch hour in which our students can find more time outside of class to engage our faculty and each other as they are equipped for their calling,” Grace noted.
Chapel, which is on Tuesday and Thursday mornings during the regular academic semester, will begin at 11:00 a.m. in MacGorman Chapel. The lunch hour across campus will be from noon to 1:00 p.m.
Afternoon classes on Tuesdays through Fridays will be offered at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Each time slot is for one hour and fifteen minutes.
Night courses that are offered on Monday and Tuesday evenings will begin at 6:30 p.m., fifteen minutes later than previous semesters, and conclude at 9:00 p.m.
Registration for the fall and winter academic terms opens April 15. Students can register for classes using Self-Service on the student page of the Southwestern and TBC student portals.
